Officer Don got off to a rocky start at the tournament. His armour - authentic down to his chain mail leggings and shoes - proved to be BLISTERINGLY hot and heavy; and in spite of wife (and riding teacher) Cheryl's pleas that he ride reliable, good-tempered Lightning, he made the mistake of stubbornly choosing Midnight as his steed. The fiery Arabian mare is definitely the most temperamental of ALL the Knottwood horses, and in addition to being a known Kicker, has the nasty habit of shying frequently. The first time Midnight dumped him, Officer Don was TERRIFIED. By the end of the tournament, however, he had fallen off so often that he had got past that, and ended up having a wonderful time.
